Pastes from Hidalgo Mexico
Family Operated

The Luna family opened Café Pachuca in July of 2020. It was a family dream in the works for over a year. George Luna, one of the family members, has experience in the hospitality industry, and his father, Jorge Luna. The family operates this café located at 2635 W North Ave, Chicago.
The Business

The empanadas, Pastes, at Café Pachuca are unique. They are oven-baked, contrary to how they are done regularly, which is deep-fried. These Pastes have an origin from England with a twist of Hidalgo, Mexico. Due to opening during the pandemic, the business decided to use third-party delivery providers like UberEats, DoorDash and Grubhub. Customers are also welcome to call and pick-up or simply walk-in.
"To succeed, work as a family and support one another"
The Road Ahead
Café Pachuca brings to the table a new concept that is hard to find in the United States, Pastes. These Pastes come in various flavors such as beef with potatoes, Hawaiian ( ham, pineapple, cheese), black bean, etc. To make it in this challenging industry, George Luna believes family is key. "To succeed, work as a family and support one another" he says when describing what is necessary to maintain a business. Café Pachuca uses two social media, Instagram and Facebook, to connect and interact with their customers. The Luna family has been able to adjust to the pandemic and learn from the tools available to them.
