Background Story

The beginning of any small business can be frightening, not because the dream cannot be accomplished, but because of the fear of not doing enough. Do Better is a small business selling apparel to help the community. The story starts with Samuel Carrera and Yovi Ordonez (that is me) having a passion for family and doing better in the community. Although the business is only starting, caring and volunteering pay with the most priceless reward, joy.

The Business

The logo was created by both Samuel and me to get people to think about their future. If we can do better, we always asked ourselves how we can motivate people to do better? The question could be quickly answered, but the response received from people vary. The pandemic has pushed the limits of what people are capable of doing. In this blog, some of the businesses started during the pandemic. The majority of the business owners express how they are doing better for themselves and their business in a multitude of ways. The companies that started before the pandemic provided extraordinary advice from the heart to motivate people to start their businesses.

I will mention, the start of a business can be complex and full of questions. One of the most amazing resources is the Small Business Administration website. It answered our questions and provided templates to get our business running. The second resource we used was advice from small business owners that came in through the door at work. With our family members' passion and guidance, we started selling our shirts to those close to us. Starting a business is scary, but it is definitely life-changing. What we started began as a dream and transformed into a reality.
